Allen Dennison November 2013 Winner

Allen Dennison of Sun City won the November contest and selected the Basic Rider Course. Here is his winning entry.

I am reentering the riders world after an 18 year absence. I really missed riding & finally have a bike again. I got my son into riding, but could not afford to do it myself. I finally got my bike & got AZ permit, but misread my permit & went in 2 days after expiration but they would not test me. I am a Foster/adopt father for kids from CPS. We have adopted 4 kids & are in the process of the last 2 for us and are keeping 5 of my 6 kids together as family-either brothers, sisters, or cousins. Our other child is a Meth boy & very complicated and expensive. We just finished a second round of brain therapy at an expense of $15,000 for the two treatments and each being single parents for 3 months at a time in different cities. All our extra funds go to raising these kids to give them a chance for a good life, even though I just got a 39% pay cut even with my 50 hour work weeks. All my kids are excited about bikes and are excited to be able to ride with Dad when I finally get my license. I believe our devotion & contribution to society in giving these kids an opportunity to life should be considered for this opportunity from you & your great contributors. I firmly believe we need to be double defensive- one for us & one for the other drivers. I am lacking in confidence for cornering & some of the maneuvering skills, so this course sounds exciting to me. Thank you for this opportunity to all of us.

Allen Dennison comments about his experience. Was a fabulous class & gained a lot of knowledge to be a better, safer, happier rider.  The turning sweeps, cornering & figure 8 in the box were the areas that greatly improved.  The looking up & ahead through the turns was a great skill that I would not have picked up on my own.  Curt & Jim were great instructors.
